*To begin, I first need to say that I am using the shorter crate legs in my photo, purchased separately. Not the included legs.*I have a large breed puppy and recently upgraded his first crate to his full size crate. I found the options for supportive crate appropriate beds to be lacking, which to me seems strange. Large breeds, you want to support their joints. I came across this company and another company, and loved the idea of the cot bed. My pup is also a warm/long haired breed, so the idea of the cooling properties of a raised bed and a supportive bed sold me. Ultimately, I decided to go with this particular bed/company because I thought the company had more to offer by way of customization. You can really choose a bed that will work for your pup, from frame and texture to height and padding. I was able to create the perfect bed for my pup. I purchased the large (40x25) bed and chose the aluminium frame. While he will probably max out around 55 lbs, I liked the idea of the extra stability of the aluminium and for not much extra in cost. The cordura fabric feels almost soft to the touch, and is nice and grippy. My pup is nervous about change, so I thought the extra grip would be good for giving some more security. The bed fits perfectly in his crate which is 42x28x30. My pup is about 22-23” tall and is still able to stand/sit on the bed without ducking.Assembly: assembly is required, but as long as you have a wrench and screwdriver, you’re good to go. It took me a couple tries to line up the elbow joints perfectly, but once I figured it out, it was a breeze. One of the elbow joints is slightly too wide, and that leg wobbles, but not to the extent that I worry about stability. New elbow joints can be purchased and are not expensive. When it’s time for me to move the bed from the crate and put on the long legs, I’ll worry about it then. That was my only issue, and not worth docking a star.For the short crate legs and the pad, I went directly to the website to order. My pup likes his bed both with and without the pad.
